About Kandy

Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka, is a city steeped in history and culture. Nestled among lush green hills, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), which houses a tooth of the Buddha. The city is beautifully centered around the picturesque Kandy Lake, built by the last Sinhalese king. Kandy is also famous for the spectacular Esala Perahera festival, one of Asia's most vibrant cultural celebrations. The surrounding area offers visits to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, tea plantations, and stunning viewpoints overlooking the city.
